Artist Updates: November 6th, 2019

Celldweller

Celldweller is set to release latest single “Into the Void”, continuing to explore the edges of electronic-rock in the expansive universe of his upcoming 5th studio album Satellites, with the new single “Into The Void”. Pushing the adrenaline of heavy guitars, aggressive vocals, growling synths and intensive BPMs, Klayton counter-balances the 5 minute journey with catchy melodies and vocal hooks, and pushes listeners into an unexpected twist during an otherworldly bridge.

Following previous singles “My Disintegration”, “A Matter of Time” and “Electric Eye”, “Into The Void” becomes the 4th single to materialize ahead of the upcoming full-length album Satellites, slated for a 2020 release. Layering on top of Celldweller’s legacy as a multi-faceted artist/producer with a multi-genre approach, Satellites leans to the heavier side of the artist’s sound, appealing to fans of Metal and Prog Rock while incorporating electronic influences from Drum & Bass and Psy-Trance.

Scandroid

Scandroid is also busy this week! An AMA hosted by r/outrun is happening now with retro inspired alter ego of enigmatic artist Klayton ahead of an appearance with Nightride FM on the State of Synth podcast tonight! Also in the works, PRIZM is releasing a remix of Scandroid’s latest release “Writing’s on the Wall” from upcoming album The Light. For those waiting to hear Scandroid’s highly-anticipated follow-up to last year’s The Darkness, the time has come: the artist’s brand new album, The Light, is available for pre-order this week through independent synthwave label FiXT Neon! The Light features a hefty selection of all-original music alongside remixes from some of the most well-regarded names in synthwave, including Lucy in Disguise, Fury Weekend, Tommy ‘86, PRIZM, and Turboslash.

To kick things off, those who pre-order The Light will receive synthwave sensation PRIZM’s remix of “Writing’s On The Wall” as an instant-grat track. The song takes the synthpop flavor of the original and pulls it out into a five-and-a-half minute opus filled with surprising compositional twists and a stunning duet-style approach as Danni and Kris alternate the vocal lead with Klayton. The result is no simple remix, but a full re-imagining of a modern synthwave classic that complements and stands beside the original as its own must-hear track.
